Capitol Inquiry received a call on a Friday from the director of a Midwest medical supply company who had just discovered his company’s shipments to military hospitals were not reaching their intended destinations. Our investigators quickly tracked these diverted supplies to a storage company in rural Maryland, and obtained the name connected with the storage bins. By Monday, we had learned the identity of the person stealing the medical supplies, had recovered the client’s supplies and equipment that remained in the storage place, and had confronted and obtained a confession from the suspect. At that point, the matter was turned over to Defense Department investigators for prosecution.
